‘Platforms’, the debut E.P. from UK instrumental duo Lyndhurst, arrived in July and lots of people were very pleased with its blend of electronica, post-rock, soundtrack, lo-fi, psych, drones, jazzy weirdness, hooky melodies, and strange noises. Bandcamp featured it on their ‘New & Notable’ homepage carousel, and lead single ‘Swimming’ was aired on Stuart Maconie’s BBC 6 Music programme ‘Freak Zone’. Support also came from respected underground shows such as Front & Follow, Space Is The Place, Dark Train, and Postcards From The Underground.
Second E.P. ‘Caves’, out on February 9th 2024, is another entertaining, slightly disturbing circuit round the Lyndhurst psyche, one that should see their playful, melodic approach – lightness of touch and a healthy emphasis on mucking about – continue to charm and unnerve. Alongside the staccato loops, swooping melodies, and skittering beats of lead single ‘Holiday Inn’ there are disorienting soundscapes (opener ‘Distraction Loop’), a carefree Residents-esque electronic polka (‘Vitamins’), smoky synths and neat, clicky grooves (‘Clay Tablet’), a majestic post-rock fanfare (‘International Headmaster’), and bubbling jazzy textures (blissed-out closer ‘Virtual Boy’).
We like ‘Caves’ very much, and hope you do too. Oscar and Dan are, as ever, available for interviews, remixes, playlists, and luxury product endorsements.

“…melodies made without ego… just tones, vibes, and sensations. A rare and wonderful thing.” Listen With Monger
“The most accurate time on the wristwatch of a man walking back and forth across a crosswalk that never changes. The closeness of cards being held in the hand of a gambler that never amounts to anything. Glasses cracking.” Small Albums
