Lyndhurst are a new UK duo consisting of long-time musical collaborators Oscar Ball and Dan Carney. Their output as Lyndhurst - a project born from working together on library music for the Universal Production Music imprint Lo Editions - is hooky and unnerving in equal measure; a compelling blend of electronica, post-rock, soundtrack, lo-fi, psych, jazzy weirdness, enticing melodies, and strange drones, loops, and noises. Sunken rhythms and smashed fanfares to make you feel slightly different.
‘Transcriptor’, their second single, will be available across digital platforms from 16th June. Like previous single ‘Swimming’, it is taken from their debut EP, ‘Platforms’ – released in July - but is a less hurried, more fraught affair than its comparatively cheerful predecessor. Hypnotic, nervous glockenspiel loops are underpinned by swelling clarinets and stuttering textures, building the tension ahead of a dramatic polyrhythmic freak-out.
We like ‘Transcriptor’ very much, and hope you do too. Oscar and Dan are available for interviews, playlists, and luxury product endorsements.

Here we have a bit of instrumental folktronica, the brainchild of Gordon Chapman-Fox. Various keyboards mix with crisp acoustic guitar, creating a semblance of wistful nostalgia. The music is delicate and languid, sometimes bordering on supernatural. My only complaint is that it’s an EP, I could stand a lot more of this in one sitting. Nickie Harte Kelly
This ambient pop album from Chute Records label head Jan the Man captures melancholy, contemplative moods simply, and without words. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 15, 2021
As I drift away from the Earth and all its chaos, its gleam reduces to a speck in the vast cosmos surrounding me. I close my eyes and take my solace among the ocean of stars. Christopher Nolan
